Ok, so I’m a little late posting these pics considering I worked at this wedding back in October!:) I was second shooter with Allison Viron Photography. It was a beautiful day…well, it looked beautiful until you went outside. The wind was blowing, like, 60 mph and it wasn’t a nice warm breeze!:) It was a little chilly! Secondly, it took Allison and I about an hour to get from the parkway east to the Fairmont b/c almost every street was closed for the Occupy Pittsburgh demonstration that was taking place that day. And where was it taking place?? In PPG place where we planned to take bridal portraits! GREAT. Continue reading → Fairmont Hotel wedding – Pittsburgh, PA — 2nd shooter

So the holidays are over and even I – one of the worst abusers of leaving Christmas decorations up (the lights on my back porch are called “bistro lights” february thru november) – have already removed all evidence of Christmas decor from my home, but I have to share Christmas card I did for the Jones Family. This has got to be my absolute favorite shot from 2011!! I knew the Jones’ were just the right people to pull this off with me and they hit it out of the park. Lindsay hit up the thrift store for the family’s wardrobe, I found the leg lamp at achristmasstoryhouse.com (it even came in a box marked “fragile” and had the option of shipping in a large wooden crate like in the movie for an additional cost), and it just so happens that Mark had a red rider bb gun up in the attic. Everyone had a blast during the shoot…we shot at Mark’s mom’s house over Thanksgiving break, so we had our own “live studio audience” cheering on the Jones’ during the shoot. It was great!
If you’re interested in doing your own A Christmas Story-themed portrait session for next year’s holiday cards, hit me up! The leg lamp needs some more miles on it!!:) So Merry belated-Christmas and Happy New Year!
I had this great idea yesterday morning when Max and I were loading up in the car: “this frost kinda looks like snow! And if I use a fast enough lens, I can make this work!” Wahoo! We have only had one snow this year so far and I REALLY need to get our Christmas card pic taken, like, NOW! So Max and I got up at 7am this morning and headed down to our line of pine trees (Forrest is SUPER proud of these 20 trees that are so PERFECTLY straight!) and attempted to make my vision. As we were leaving the house, I grabbed my new pocket wizards and my speedlight and a light stand, but as we started walking, Max wasn’t doing so well (he’s only been walking for 2.5 weeks now) and wasn’t thrilled that the frosted grass was so cold, so I just left the light stand so I could carry him. HA! I should have figured I wouldn’t get the chance to even use it, so it was a good decision!:) Not long after our arrival at the tree line, Max became very unhappy VERY fast. These were the results. Maybe Daddy will help us tomorrow morning and we can get this right. OR, maybe we’ll actually get some SNOW!! ORRRR, I have one more idea but it involves purchasing lots of outdoor string lights….. guess you’ll just have to wait and see what I come up with!:) For now, enjoy my delightful son:
While the beautiful colors of fall always seem to make the perfect scene for family portraits, the portraits are that much better when the family is just as beautiful…and fun, too! Just look at these smiles, folks! Gorgeous! Tanner, Gracie, and Ethan (the triplets) were so much fun to photograph! They were so into it, helped me find the perfect locations, and even carried my gear. Now that’s pretty awesome!:) Continue reading → Agnello Family Portraits — Indiana, PA
The other day, I was texting with one of my best friends from high school, Mart, who just happens to be a successful photographer (martiaikenphotography.com), and she asked if I’d like to surprise one of our best friends, Danyelle, at her maternity session by just showing up unannounced to second shoot. I thought it was a great idea! Continue reading → Danyelle – “surprise” maternity portraits — New Brighton, PA
Well, Tonya, you and I have come a long way since our days flippin’ burgers and gossiping about boys at Beaver McDonalds! The good old days!! Now, we’re all grown up and Tonya has found an amazing man. This was my first time meeting her hubby Mike, but it was very clear that the love they share for one another is special. Tonya is my favorite kind of client because she is up for anything and the camera loves her! Continue reading → Mike and Tonya Wedding Portraits: Old Economy Village, Ambridge, PA
