Mara and Loren’s wedding day was–like the majority of the weddings scheduled in 2020–a long time coming. The original date in 2020 had to be rescheduled to 2021, but you know what they say: the best things come to those who wait. The day was absolutely perfect: a warm and sunny September day with barely a cloud in the sky, perfect for their outdoor wedding ceremony at the Loyalhanna Hunt Club outside of Blairsville, PA. The wedding venue is perfect for couples that like a rustic style with an indoor-outdoor option, but don’t want to go full-barn wedding.
I met Mara at the on-site apartment where she was getting her hair and make-up done. She wore a lace v-neck sheath gown paired beautifully with a dried wildflower bouquet and custom dried wildflower hairpiece. A limo brought her down to the ceremony site where she met her groom, Loren, who was waiting at the alter with her son. After Mara and Loren exchanged vows, the three took part in a blending ceremony, they did a blending ceremony with each of their favorite candy.
After the ceremony, we snuck away to do some portraits in a nearby sun-soaked field. The reception had some of the best ribs around from Clem’s BBQ (I sent several pics to my hubby to make him jealous!) and guests danced the night away to live music. So many smiles and friendly faces, it was a great day!
