Brady’s Run Park and Beaver River Sunset Family Portrait Session

It’s been over 3 years that I’ve been photographing this family and you’d think after awhile all our sessions would start to feel the same. Not true at all! Sure, we return to some of the same locations so we can see how the girls grow (this session was just for Cordelia’s 15 months – Rita got to spend the evening with Mamu and PopPop), but we always come away with something different. And I love it! The plan is always loose and we see what the 2 hour session will bring.

On this particularly humid June evening, we started at the creek (pronounced “crick”) at Brady’s Run. For one, it’s much cooler in the shaded creek, but how about that light? So magical! After the creek, we returned to a playground that we captured Cordelia’s big sister playing at around the same age. I love the different colors and shapes and Cordelia’s interactions with them.

And finally — I must say first that I am in love with rivers — we went down to the Beaver River in Bridgewater to catch a beautiful pale pink and orange sunset. When we arrived, the sun was working its way down, but was still a little too bright, so we passed the time by waving to boaters docking up for the night. Finally, the sun began to set and we headed down to the dock to capture the last few shots. Even the geese wanted in on it!

Looking forward to our session this fall!

Rita + Min + Andrew — Family Portraits — Brady’s Run Park — Beaver County PA Photographer

I so look forward to sessions with Rita and her mom and dad! I just love seeing how Rita has changed in just 3 months. Makes me realize my little Mary is changing too, though the changes don’t seem as apparent since I see her ginger face every day.:)

For our fall session, we went to Brady’s Run Park. It’s crazy how each fall is different. Last year at this time, the park was alive with color at every turn. This year, not so much. Continue reading → Rita + Min + Andrew — Family Portraits — Brady’s Run Park — Beaver County PA Photographer

Luke and Christina – Engagement Portraits – Brady’s Run Park – Beaver, PA

It was such a pleasure taking Luke and Christina’s engagement pictures! We had a beautiful evening – great light, not too humid, and Brady’s Run Park offered a great backdrop for the pictures. Check out the ducks doing a photo bomb as we were getting some pics at the boat launch! Continue reading → Luke and Christina – Engagement Portraits – Brady’s Run Park – Beaver, PA

Hannah is 3 – Brady’s Run Park – Children Portraits – Beaver County, PA Photographer

I cannot believe Hannah is 3 already! Yikes! Time flies! I first met Hannah when she was at her mom’s cousin’s wedding that I was shooting. It was actually the first wedding I’d shot on my own, so I guess you could say Hannah has seen Elders Ridge Photography from its infancy when she was an infant!:) Continue reading → Hannah is 3 – Brady’s Run Park – Children Portraits – Beaver County, PA Photographer

Kim + Chris – Fall Engagement Portraits Brady’s Run Park – Beaver, PA

It’s fall, ya’ll! 🙂 The official best time of year to take pictures! Colors, light, and no humidity!! Well, not usually…it was pretty darn humid on the day I shot Kim and Chris’s engagement pictures at Brady’s Run Park. But you can’t tell at all, right? Kim and Chris had their first date at a Starbucks, so we worked that into the shoot. And, they are big Pittsburgh sports fans, and for their Save the Date’s, we did some Pens stuff and some Pirates stuff. Hannah 2 year Portraits — Children Photography — Brady’s Run Park, PA

My session with Hannah and her mom, Amanda, could not have gone better. Amanda and I have been planning this shoot for several months and the weather spoiled our plans back in March. The weekend we planned for originally was really cold, freezing rain, and just general yucky-ness.

The evening of this shoot, we couldn’t have had better conditions! Spring light makes me nervous because it is very harsh and blue most of the day, so I scheduled the shoot for 7pm thinking that would give the sun time to “soften and yellow up” as it often does near sunset. Combine with the money location of the shallow stream behind the ice rink at Brady’s Run, I soon realized we hit the jack pot!
