Alexis + Sam — Barn Wedding, Indiana, PA

“Barn wedding” doesn’t really do this venue justice, but I try to keep the titles short. The barn that Alexis and Sam were married in is over 100 years old, on her family’s farm, and was recently restored to the beautiful site that it is now. Alexis’s whole family and many friends helped with the restoration, making it that much more special.

Coincidently, my husband was one of the subcontractors who helped with the restoration. He had mentioned this project to me and said that the barn was being restored for a wedding…and that he would drop my name to Alexis as a possible photographer. Well, Alexis is much more organized and quick-moving than my sweet husband, so she actually reached out to me before Forrest had a chance to talk to her without knowing the connection. It was meant to be!:)

For such a special venue, I wanted to make sure extra special pictures were taken, so I hired RS Aerial Photography to shoot aerial photographs with a drone during the evening. He got some amazingly gorgeous views of the barn.

Congratulations to Alexis and Sam!

Owen is 1 — First Birthday Portraits — Indiana County Photographer

Everyone wish this sweet little peanut a happy first year of life! Just look at those big baby blues – what a handsome guy! We took Own’s 1st year portraits at his great-aunt’s house in Avonmore, PA.
The gazebo was the perfect cover for the light rain showers that were lingering. Owen was such a little trooper considering a few days before it was nearly 80 degrees and today it was chilly in the 50’s! Owen is all boy – I loved how he threw his letters each time we set them up. They’re just toys, right?:) Happy birthday, sweet boy!

Rita is 3 and Cora is 1 — Children and Family Portraits — Bridgewater Crossing

I just love growing with this family! I have had the pleasure and honor of photographing them since Min’s maternity session when it was just the two of them. And now they are a family of 4!

While we make each session unique, we like to incorporate a few portraits in the same location and with similar props/outfits for comparison. We’ve gone back to Bridgewater Crossing in front of the big train bridge on the girls 1st birthdays each year:

We have many examples of this — I could make an entire blog about it! But for now, let’s take a look at Rita and Cora celebrating their 3rd and 1st years of life!

Kennedy — Apollo-Ridge Class of 2016 — Senior Portraits

Kennedy is one of the 7 other people who live in the small village of Elders Ridge, so I was super-pumped when her mom asked me to take her senior portraits. Kennedy loves the beautiful rolling hills and golden fields that surround our homes, but also was intrigued by other locations I’ve used before, so we just took pictures all over the place!

Kennedy also plays softball for Apollo-Ridge, so we visited the ball fields for a few portraits, too. She worked this session! Best of luck, Kennedy!

Family Portraits in the Snow — Flemings Christmas Tree Farm — Indiana, PA Photographer

It’s not every day that we get snow in Western PA! I mean, don’t get me wrong, we GET snow, but it is oh so unpredictable – certainly not predictable enough to schedule a photo session around! However, on this day, we got lucky! What a beautiful winter wonderland! Continue reading → Family Portraits in the Snow — Flemings Christmas Tree Farm — Indiana, PA Photographer

Eric — Senior Portraits — Indiana County PA Photographer

About 3 minutes into Eric’s session, I remembered why I love doing senior portraits so much: photographing one person in a controlled setting is so much less stressful than many of the other things I shoot!:) Eric did a fantastic job – pretty handsome guy, right?

I loved the conditions we had – late fall light is the absolute best! We labeled the walking shot on the railroad tracks as his “album cover.” Definitely one of my favorites from the session! Best wishes to Eric!
